Homecoming Weekend A Success:
What a great time we had during our September 20 and 21 Homecoming Weekend. It started off with a fun Friday night All Class Get Together when former students gathered at the James V. Harmon Community Center to eat, drink, relive old memories and make new ones. It’s always a great way to kick-off our weekend.
After being up late Friday night, your alumni Board members made it to the annual Alumni Association Board meeting in time to have a cup of coffee before heading out for a tour of the school. We were glad to have a contingent of alums from the Class of 1954 who were in town for their 70th reunion. Among their memories as we walked through the school, “A hot lunch cost 25 cents.”, and “Tuna was served every Friday”.
At our Annual Board meeting President Stan Madyda reviewed the highlights of this past year including the distribution of $31,250 in scholarships, and noted that we will be having a special event next year to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Alumni Association.
Saturday afternoon had alumni visiting the Hastings Historical Society and the Cropsey Foundation. We are appreciative of those organizations for opening their doors that afternoon.
The weekend ended with the induction of six new members to the Ronald Wilson Lindemann Athletic Hall of Fame. What great stories we heard from the inductees, their coaches, families, and teammates. Watch the full event
