Alumni Weekend 2025 Recap and Our Next Big Event
Dear Alumni, Family, and Friends:
On September 19th and 20th, The Alumni Association celebrated its annual Alumni Weekend with some excellent events! Check out the recap below and keep reading for our upcoming milestone celebration.
All Class Reunion:
On September 19th, alumni across all grades gathered at the James Harmon Community Center for hors d’oeuvres and light refreshments. Susan Huelsman Ryan (class of 1976) was the winner of the 50/50 raffle and generously donated the winnings back to the Association. We extend our thanks to Susan for her generosity.

Annual Meeting:
As a registered 501(c)(3), the Association is required to host an annual meeting. Each year, on Alumni Weekend, we meet at the High School for a light breakfast, school tour, and our annual meeting. President Stan Madyda provided a recap of the Association’s activities in 2024, what we’re planning for the remainder of 2025, and what we’re looking forward to in the future. Hastings v. Haldane:
On Saturday, the Yellowjackets faced off against Haldane. Although we lost, the team played hard!

2025 Hall of Excellence Induction Ceremony:
On Saturday evening, the Association inducted nine alumni into its Hall of Excellence, celebrating their post high school successes and lifetime achievements in the Arts & Sciences, Business, Law, Finance, Government, Religion and Public Service. Jonathan Lillard ’63 was also present and signed copies of his book All Roads Lead to Hastings-on-Hudson which offers a comprehensive history of Hastings. Copies are available through Amazon.

Class of 1980 Reunion:
On Saturday, the Class of 1980 celebrated their 45th class reunion at Maud’s Tavern. This year, the class has raised money for the “Taking on Challenges Scholarship” in memory of their classmates who have passed. To date, the scholarship fund is $1,280. The Association congratulates the Class of 1980!

Up Next – 25th Anniversary Gala:
2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Association and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate!
Since inception, the Association has pursued its mission to actively engage alumni and foster a lifelong connection with HHS; offer social opportunities; provide scholarships to deserving future alumni; recognize and celebrate achievements and promote a spirit of unity and pride.
To celebrate this milestone, we’re throwing a Gala and you’re invited! Join us on November 8, 2025 from 7pm – 10pm at the Newington-Cropsey Foundation. The event will feature basket raffles, a silent auction, and a program dedicated to the Association’s history and our excellent alumni. Tickets are limited, so sign up to party ASAP!
We’re also producing a Program Journal as a commemorative memento of this special gala event that will also highlight interesting stories from our alumni. Click HERE to learn more about the Journal. Journal ads are due no later than October 17, 2025.
