2025 Spring/Summer Update
President’s Message:
The last several months have found the Board of Directors busy with upcoming events and new fundraising ideas which will be mentioned in depth elsewhere in the newsletter. Briefly, we will be having our Hall of Excellence event in September, followed by our 25th Anniversary Gala in November. We will also have a raffle for New York Giants season tickets and are establishing an online store for Alumni Association merchandise.
Over the last year and a half, I have spoken to alumni of other high schools in New York State that want to form their own alumni association. It seems we are one of the very few high school alumni associations. These individuals were very impressed with all the activities we plan and implement, including awarding scholarships, sponsoring the Alumni Weekend, our two Halls and more. I told them we started out small and grew over 25 years.
As our Association grows, more opportunities emerge for alumni to get involved. Being a board member is not a requirement to join in and help with the tasks we have to do during the year. There are many ways to help. One way is to become a class rep. While we have a very good group of class reps, there are a number of classes that have no one, especially for classes from the last 30 years. Having representation and involvement for those years will ensure the future of the Alumni Association. Melinda Kaiser, a non-board member, is our coordinator. Three to four times a year, she will send out a newsletter to the reps that can be copied and pasted and emailed to class members. Class reps are free to add what they would like to communicate to classmates.
There are other areas where help is needed such as membership, planning and running events, fundraising, being involved with the scholarship process, writing newsletter content and outreach.
If you’d like to learn how you can become involved, please reach out to any board member or attend one of our board meetings. You can always reach us at info@hohalumni.org!

Alumni Spotlight!
During this year’s Village Police Department Inspection, the Hastings-on-Hudson Police Department commended four graduates on their good work in investigating an armed home invasion, which occurred in May of 2024. The investigation culminated in the arrest of the perpetrator and the recovery of most of the stolen goods.
